The Process

Step-by-Step Service Flow

Step
1

Schedule Your Appointment

Book online or by phone at a time that works for your life same-week availability with evening and weekend slots included.

Step
2

Complete Your Intake

We review your health history, current medications, and every concern you want addressed before the exam begins so the appointment starts with context, not introductions.

Step
3

Your Exam & Screening

A licensed Illinois provider reviews your physical, hormonal, reproductive, and mental health in one visit with lab work and screenings built around your specific profile, not a standard protocol.

Step
4

Care Plan & Ongoing Support

You leave with a written care plan, scheduled follow-up, and direct provider access between visits not a vague printout and a general number to call if something feels off.

How Quickly Can I Be Seen?

Same-day appointments are available, with same-day scheduling when timing allows. Once your intake is reviewed, you meet with a licensed Illinois provider for your full exam. If lab work is ordered, results are reviewed directly with you not posted to a portal without explanation.

Your care team will also address:

  • Any symptoms or concerns you came in with not just the ones that fit a standard checklist
  • Hormonal patterns, cycle irregularities, or changes you’ve noticed but haven’t raised before
  • Mental health screening and what findings mean clinically
  • Preventive screenings appropriate for your age, history, and risk profile
  • What your results mean, what we’re monitoring, and what the follow-up plan looks like

The goal is not just to complete an annual exam. The goal is to leave the appointment knowing more about your health than when you walked in.

Am I Eligible for a Well Woman Exam?

Our Well Woman Exam Services Include

Comprehensive Physical Exam

A full head-to-toe physical that goes beyond checking standard vitals. We assess cardiovascular health, abdominal health, musculoskeletal concerns, and anything you’ve been managing between visits that has not had a clinical eye on it.

Hormonal Health Screening

Fatigue, mood changes, cycle irregularity, and disrupted sleep are symptoms with clinical causes worth identifying. We evaluate your hormonal picture at every relevant exam and explain what we find in plain language not medical shorthand.

Cervical Cancer Screening (Pap Smear)

Ordered at clinically appropriate intervals based on your age, prior results, and HPV status not on a fixed schedule that ignores your individual history. We explain what the results mean at every stage rather than leaving interpretation to a portal notification.

Breast Health Evaluation

Clinical breast exam at every visit, with mammography referral and imaging coordination based on your age, family history, and risk profile not a blanket recommendation applied identically to every patient.

Preventive Lab Work

Thyroid function, cholesterol, blood glucose, anemia, vitamin D, and other labs ordered around your specific age, risk factors, and symptoms not a fixed panel applied regardless of who you are.

Mental Health Screening

Depression, anxiety, and perinatal mood disorders screened at every relevant visit and addressed directly with a real conversation about findings, not a form score and a referral number.

The Most Question We Got so Far

How soon after sex should I get tested for STDs?

Still have questions? Reach out we’re just a message away.

Does a well woman exam include a Pap smear every year?

Not necessarily — and it shouldn’t. Cervical screening intervals are based on your age, prior results, and HPV status. Current clinical guidelines recommend Pap smears every three years for most women between 21 and 65, or every five years when combined with HPV co-testing. We determine the right interval for your specific history rather than defaulting to annual screening regardless of what your results suggest.

A well woman exam at our practice covers a comprehensive physical assessment, hormonal health review, cervical screening at appropriate intervals, breast health evaluation, STI screening based on your risk profile, mental health screening, preventive lab work, and a reproductive health review. Every component is tailored to your age, history, and what you came in with — not applied identically to every patient.

Most major insurance plans and Medicaid cover annual wellness exams for women, and many preventive services carry no out-of-pocket cost under the Affordable Care Act. We verify your specific benefits before your appointment so cost is clear before you arrive not after.

Some components of a well woman exam lab result reviews, follow-up visits, and symptom check-ins work well over telehealth. The physical exam itself requires an in-person visit. We establish telehealth options for appropriate follow-up visits at your first appointment so you’re not coming in for every interaction that could happen remotely.
