The Process
Step-by-Step Service Flow
Step
1
Schedule Your Appointment
Reach us by phone or online booking. Many weeks offer same-day slots, and we’ll always find you something within the week if today doesn’t work.
Step
2
Tell Us What's Going On
Before any exam begins, we listen to your symptoms, your history, what’s been nagging at you, and what you’ve been putting off. That conversation shapes the visit around your real needs instead of a standard checklist.
Step
3
We Collect What We Need
Your provider performs the exam or ordering the testing that fits your situation, always explaining the purpose of each step beforehand, in a setting built for privacy.
Step
4
Leave With Answers, Not Just Results
Once results are in, your provider translates them into plain terms what they mean, whether anything needs follow-up, and what your care plan looks like from here. No lab report left for you to interpret alone.
How Soon Can I Be Seen?
Yes same-day visits are common. We start with a conversation rather than jumping straight to a checklist exam, because primary care for women spans a lot of territory: preventive, hormonal, reproductive, and everyday health concerns that don’t always fit neatly into one category.
That first conversation touches on:
- When you were last screened, and whether you’re due for anything now
- Whether a Pap, pelvic exam, or breast exam belongs on today’s visit given your age and history
- Symptoms you may have been sitting with — cycle changes, low energy, mood swings, anything unresolved
- Your current birth control situation, whether that means starting fresh, switching, or just checking in
- Whether combining this visit with STI testing or a contraception discussion makes sense for you
Many patients walk in with more than one concern stacked up, and this visit is built to work through the whole list — not just the loudest symptom.
Am I Eligible for These Tests?
- You're due or overdue for a well-woman exam, Pap smear or breast exam
- Your periods have become irregular, unusually heavy, or painful and no one's looked into why
- You suspect fatigue or mood shifts might be tied to something hormonal or thyroid-related
- You want to start birth control, switch methods, or troubleshoot one that isn't working
- It's been more than a year since your last general checkup
- You're managing an ongoing condition and want one consistent provider tracking it
- You'd rather handle preventive screening and labs in a single visit than several
- Whether you're insured, on Medicaid, or uninsured, we sort out coverage before you arrive not after
What Our Testing Visit Covers
Well-Woman Exams
Your Pap smear, pelvic exam, and breast exam, timed to what’s actually appropriate for your age and history with every step explained before it happens, not after.
Cycle & Hormone-Related Symptoms
Heavy periods, irregular cycles, painful cramping, energy crashes, mood shifts these get dismissed too often elsewhere. Here, the pattern gets investigated properly instead of waved off as normal.
Birth Control Support
Whether you’re starting from zero, switching because side effects aren’t working, or just want options laid out clearly, we help match birth control to your actual life not just what was prescribed once and never revisited.
Labs & Preventive Screening
Thyroid function, cholesterol, blood sugar, STI panels, and other preventive labs get bundled into one visit whenever your risk profile calls for them, instead of trickling out over multiple appointments.
Ongoing Condition Management
PCOS, thyroid disorders, anxiety, and other chronic concerns get tracked by the same provider over time, so you’re not re-explaining your history at every appointment.
Reproductive Health Planning
Trying to conceive, actively preventing pregnancy, or just want clarity on where things stand we make room for that conversation as part of the visit, not as an afterthought squeezed in at the end.
Common Situations That Bring Chicago Patients to Us
- A checkup that's been pushed back so many times it's now embarrassing to admit
- Periods that have quietly gotten worse heavier, more painful, less predictable
- Wanting off their current birth control but unsure what a better fit even looks like
- Constant tiredness or mood swings that get blamed on stress but never actually tested
- A Pap that's technically overdue, sometimes by a while
- Wanting primary care and STI testing handled together instead of scheduled separately
- Hormonal or thyroid symptoms that have gone uninvestigated for years
- Planning a pregnancy and wanting a real conversation, not a prenatal vitamin recommendation and a handshake
- A rushed past appointment where questions never fully got answered
- Wanting one provider who actually remembers their history instead of starting from scratch each time

The Most Question We Got so Far
Still have questions? Reach out we’re just a message away.
How often should I actually be getting a Pap smear?
It depends on your age, history, and past results generally somewhere between every one and three years, but we’ll pin down your exact timeline during the visit rather than applying a blanket rule. If you’re unsure how overdue you are, that uncertainty is reason enough to book.
Is this different from just seeing my regular family doctor?
We focus specifically on women’s health cycles, hormones, contraception, and reproductive care alongside general primary care, so you’re not bounced between providers for things that overlap. Visits also run longer than a typical rushed physical, which means more time to actually work through what’s going on.
Can birth control and a general physical happen in the same appointment?
Yes most patients handle both in one visit. We build the appointment around everything you need that day, so starting or switching birth control doesn’t require a separate trip back in.
Everyone keeps telling me it's "just stress" how do I actually get looked into?
Start by naming what’s actually happening fatigue, mood changes, cycle shifts and asking directly for bloodwork rather than a general reassurance. We take that request seriously here and order the labs that rule things in or out, instead of defaulting to “stress” as the answer.
