Telehealth medication abortion allows patients to consult with a licensed provider remotely using secure video or phone appointments. During the consultation, the provider reviews your health history and confirms whether medication abortion is a safe option for you.
Medication abortion uses two FDA-approved medications:
- Mifepristone – blocks progesterone to stop pregnancy development.
- Misoprostol – taken later to cause the uterus to contract and expel the pregnancy.
