Licensed and Regulated
Our aftercare support is part of a fully licensed medical service operating under all applicable state and federal healthcare regulations. The guidance on this page and the support our team provides throughout your recovery comes from licensed medical providers following current clinical standards. You are not reading generic internet advice. This is real medical aftercare from a properly regulated practice that treated you.
Certified Nurse Practitioners
Our board certified nurse practitioners stay involved in your care after your appointment ends. They are the same providers who saw you, know your case, and prepared you for what to expect. When you reach out during recovery you are not talking to a call center. You are talking to a clinical team that knows your situation and takes your recovery seriously.
Transparent, Upfront Pricing
Aftercare support and follow up are part of your care, not add ons you pay for separately. Everything included in your recovery support is covered within your original cost of care. Nothing new appears on your bill because you needed to call us during recovery.
Verified & Accredited Provider Network
Whether your original appointment was in clinic or through telehealth, the aftercare support you receive comes from the same verified, licensed, and accredited provider network. Your follow up check in is handled by a licensed provider and our team remains reachable throughout your recovery through the same secure channels used for your original appointment.
What Is Abortion Pill Aftercare?
Abortion pill aftercare refers to everything that happens after you take your medications. It covers what your body goes through during the process, how to manage symptoms at home, what recovery looks like day by day, when to be concerned and when not to be, and how to confirm the abortion is complete. It also includes your scheduled follow up, guidance on your next period, and information on contraception if that is relevant to you.
Good aftercare is not complicated but it does require knowing what is normal, what is not, and what to do in either situation. That is exactly what this page and our team are here for.

HOW IT WORKS?
Safe, Simple Steps for Abortion pill aftercare Service
Call or Book Online
Reach out by phone or through our online scheduling tool. Let our team know you are interested in the at home service. We schedule your consultation and answer any questions you have about the process before you begin.
Complete Your Medical Screening
A licensed provider conducts your full screening through a secure telehealth platform. This confirms your gestational age, checks that medication abortion is appropriate for your situation, and identifies anything that needs to be considered before your prescription is written.
Take Mifepristone at Home
When your package arrives you take mifepristone first. It stops the pregnancy from progressing and most patients feel little to no physical effect after this step. You wait 24 to 48 hours before taking the second medication.
Take Misoprostol 24 to 48 Hours Later
This is when the physical process begins. Cramping and bleeding typically start within one to four hours. Your provider will have already walked you through what this involves at your specific gestational stage so you are not going into it without a clear picture of what to expect.
What Medications Are Used?
Medication abortion uses two FDA approved medications that have been used safely for decades.
Mifepristone is taken first. It stops the pregnancy from progressing by blocking the hormone it needs to develop. Most patients feel little to nothing immediately after taking it.
Misoprostol is taken 24 to 48 hours later. It causes the uterus to contract and empty. This is when cramping and bleeding begin. How intense the experience is depends on your gestational age and your provider prepares you specifically for that before your medication is ever taken.
Is Abortion Pill Aftercare Different for Everyone?
Yes. How your recovery feels depends on how far along your pregnancy was, your individual pain tolerance, and how your body responds to the medications. What does not change is what is medically normal and what is not. Your provider tailors your preparation and your aftercare guidance to your specific gestational stage so the information you receive applies to you, not just to patients in general.
Your Privacy Is Protected
Your aftercare support takes place through the same encrypted HIPAA compliant channels as your original appointment. What you share with your provider during follow up stays between you and your provider.
If you are reaching out by phone your call is handled with the same confidentiality as any other medical communication. Nothing about your contact with us during recovery identifies the nature of your care to anyone outside your care team.

Areas We Serve In Indiana
How long does recovery take after the abortion pill?
The most intense phase of recovery typically passes within 24 hours of taking misoprostol. Lighter bleeding continues for one to two weeks after that. Most patients feel back to normal within a few days though this varies depending on gestational age and individual factors.
How do I know if my abortion is complete?
A pregnancy test taken three weeks after misoprostol is the standard way to confirm the abortion is complete. Your provider walks you through how to read your result and what to do if you have questions about it.
When does my period come back after a medication abortion?
Most patients get their first period back four to eight weeks after their abortion. It may be lighter or heavier than usual. If your period has not returned after eight weeks contact our team.
What if someone else receives my package?
Because the packaging is completely unmarked, nothing about the package itself reveals its contents. If you have concerns about who might receive your mail, talk to our team. We can discuss options with you based on your specific situation.
Which states do we serve?
Illinois, Indiana and New York. We will be serving other states soon. Keep checking for updates.
